    I've noticed that this site has a lot of monetized and undownloadable maps lately, and it's really annoying. It feels like PMC is becoming more like a platform for Patreon. This trend is ruining the immersive experience of PMC, It's starting to feel more like a marketplace for Bedrock instead of a creative community by PMC standards. I'm getting burnt out trying to create and upload content on this site.

    Oh I know, just licensing filters could be helpful for a number of reasons including that. Plus free and open source are two different things, like someone may freely distribute something, but have rules about it's usage in videos, modpacks or remixing.

    One remedy would be to require a setting a licence of some sort, so the average user could just leave theIr stuff as Creative Commons or GPL, while those trying to sell would have to specify the proprietary licence. Then you could just filter to just free and open source stuff for a normal experience, safe from the nuisance of capitalism.

    I understand the features of PMC, but it seems like monetized content is becoming dominant on PMC's platform. Even small builds now require payment. This is turning the community into a marketplace. For example, when I scroll through 10 maps, 11 of them are monetized :/

    the system usually flags monetised/undownloadable content, and you can filter through them to only find ones with a download link. I do agree though

    hi everyone
    Nature X v9.0 will be released today. it restores the support of ctm, which means many exciting features that couldn't be implemented with vanilla only and required Optifine's ctm is added again!

    for Sodium this will require having the Continuity mod installed which allows Optifine's ctm to work perfectly with Sodium!
    not only that, it also support the emmisive feature of Optifine! so now many textures will glow up again!

    hi everyone!
    2 features are coming in the next update of Nature X [​8.2]:

    1) all logs will have a small branches
    2) all types of ice will have an ice spikes variant

    the 8.2 update will be released soon as it has many bug fixes.

    hi everyone!

    phase 2 update of Nature V has been released!
    this update has many new features plus very important performance fixes.
    it revamps the coral reefs, mushroom fields, deep dark, nether, and the end biome! big improvement! it also fixes many issues with the last update and re-do many of the textures too!

    with phase 2 done, Nature V is almost identical to Nature X [​the Optifine version] if not better [​thanks for the new improved performance methods that i've used in Nature V].

    in phase 3 i'll focus on doing most of the overlay textures and adding many textures variants for many blocks, so stay tuned!

    thanks a lot for your amazing support, i appreciate it so much!

    i said it before, i’m really proud of v3 of Nature X, i can’t believe how much this version has improved this pack, to the point that i really can’t compare Nature X after v3 with the previous v2 and v1 of it as the difference is truly astounding!

    ik i’ve said before that the last update of v3 would be v3.10 (we’re on v3.17 omg) but i couldn’t help myself with stopping. i kept improving this pack with updates until the current update which is as i said v3.17.

    v3.17 will be the last update of v3 (seriously this time i promise), and i want to let you know that i’ll keep working harder and try to deliver the best of what i can do.

    so, on v4 of Nature X, connected textures for so many blocks will be added, this will be the opening feature of this version. also i’m planning in this version to start adding textures variations for so many other blocks (unrelated nature blocks too).

    and with the release of v4, Nature V will be released, this is a vanilla version of Nature X but with less features (as without Optifine there would be some limitations). i’ll keep on updating it and ill try to implement the new features with methods that won’t require Optifine that much.

    what's your thoughts on this?

    i've added short grass everywhere, it looks cool right?


    however, there is a shading issue that occurs but only when using shaders, and in some scenarios not all the time such as time of day, direction of shade.. etc
    in the following pic i've used BSL shaders, at noon time. it's not that bad, however the short grass did become darker (in other time of days and other shade directions it's actually good and doesn't have this issue)


    here is the same pic, also at noon, but with a different angel (different shade direction), here i think it looks bad, and whatever i do (even when brightening the short grass texture) it still occur


    i've wanted to add this feature from a long long time but couldn't solve this issue, so, should i keep this feature or not?

    i also found that turning off smooth lighting option would reduce the issue a bit
    just a question please, should i keep this feature or scrape the entire thing

    Yeah, I've had this problem too. The grass is a part of the grass block itself and it calculates shadows based on the sides of the block, not the top, thus the messed up shading. Afaik, there's no good fix for that.

    Nature X update 3.12 is out now!
    in this update i was experimenting with the sunflower model, and i accidentally made it 3 blocks tall haha
    but i decided to keep it, and i had to make the short & tall grass taller too (only in the sunflower plains biome) as it didn't look good having a 1 block grass everywhere with 3 blocks sunflowers here and there, so i had to make them taller.
    so now it looks like this and i really like it, it's like an all tall grass biome i think it's realistic too.

    also i added a new texture for the birch sapling in the old growth birch forest

    with all of the hype with the far draw distances mods combined with extreme shaders, it’s really beautiful & impressive what all of these developers have achieved with their great work, but i've been lately playing with draw distance set to 6 or less with dense fog and moody brightness, idk this gives me nostalgia and i really miss these vibes. guess that i'm going backwards in time :)

    Nature X 3.10!

    sorry for the frequent updates but what happens is that i think of an idea that i'd love to have, try to implement it, then when it's all done i get so excited to release it for all of you to enjoy it too!

    i'll release the last update of version 3 of Nature X today maybe, and then i'll work on version 4. it won't be released soon because i want it to be massive with many features!

    i'm really proud of version 3, i think it's my best work yet, started working on it on Feb 14th, with 10 updates i managed to implement great features that actually didn't think that i would be able to add!

    also i'm very thankful for all of you, for all of this support,. i was afraid to come back after my 2 years break, i thought that i will be forgotten as well as my work, but what have been achieved proved the opposite!

    thanks a lot, this means the world to me! and i hope you enjoy Nature X, have a great time please ❤

    i worked so hard the last 2 weeks trying to recover from my long break of 2 years, i'm really thankful for all of you because i didn't expect that i'll get that much of support, this really meant the world to me, thank you

    so with these 2 weeks i've improved my pack "Nature X" so much. adding some great features that i'm very proud of, it's really a big improvement.

    Today i'm publishing the last update of version 3, which is v3.6 with 2 main great features:
    **snow now will have more height variations which helps in making snowy biomes have layered snow by default


    **all types of ice will have more variants in the frozen river and snowy beach biome

    New update of Nature X has been released! Revamping the end highlands biome!
    I was wondering if some of you had some lag when being in that biome because of the density of the used new model?? if so, please report this here on this post. maybe I can reduce the density of the used new model

    i've released a new update for Nature X, hope you enjoy it.
    many beautiful ideas in my mind to implement in the next update!
    here is the first one:
    i want the cherry grove biome to have more flowers, i mean yes, pink petals and the lovely falling leaves particles do their jobs, but i need more! and because i imagined this biometo be a cute, soft biome, i didn't like having tall grass in it. i like it with short grass only, so i made the tall grass become a cute cherry flower that fits the texture and color of the cherry leaves. so this flower will replace the tall grass only in this biome. here is it, tell me what do you think!

    hello my lovely people
    it's been a while since the last time i've been here. i'm really sorry :(
    i were in high school the last time and now i'm almost graduating university. well i opened minecraft 1.20.4 a couple of days ago, and thought what if i tweaked my texture pack - Nature X - a bit while i'm here, so i've done a couple of things, and i wanted to update the pack. here is what i've done:

    ** i added a bushy cherry blossom leaves:

    ** i added fire flies, that spawns on top of a blue orchid flower only in the swaps (including mangrove)

    **glowing lily pad flowers are back :) (not all flowers will glow)

    **yellow birch forests are also back


    **lastly, i don't have a vision of how to improve the pink petals, could you please give me some ideas so i can implement them?

    DEVAMPED Blocks development are restarting.

    what does that mean? well, I'm starting the block section from scratch, I know that's difficult decision but honestly it needs to be.

    "what's wrong with it?"
    Due to very limited color palette I use (usually 4 maximum), the aesthetic doesn't go very well. as some couple blocks were rushed, or just does not fit with environments. as I played minecraft with this nearly everyday and I couldn't tell myself what's need to be changed.

    I wanted this texture pack to be finished and refined much as I could, unfortunately my motivation doesn't want to go anywhere so, we're starting all over again and skipping 0.5-alpha to 0.6-alpha entirely starting now.

    Java Edition Port are once again delayed, though not exactly. I'll try my best to port both bedrock and java when some textures are done.

    Until then, expect some 0.6-alpha update about few days as there's things needed to be done

    Note here that - only blocks are affected, another like items and models stuff are unaffected, but we'll see.
