I feel like it has a lot of potential; older Minecraft was basic, and, importantly for mention here, quite difficult, too; the nights were super dark, running didn't exist, and beds were, ironically, hard to procure. I do dislike how it looks, though, in pretty much every way, and don't think it can be 'fixed', per se ⸺ just redone from the ground-up.
