    So, I was playing with some friends on hypixel housing and we were building, and someone came on and was being a bit rude about our builds. They eventually called a friend "she" although the friend never said their pronouns. This eventually escalated to them saying how if our skins look like girls, we are girls, and how we act proves we're girls- I mean ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

    how you act doesn't say your gender, and neither does how you dress or your appearance. I hope this person learns in the future- we eventually had to mute them and then they just left and didn't come back (in contrast to when we repeatedly kicked them and they kept coming back.)

    In any case, i just wanted to say something about that. your appearance and personality don't define your gender and your pronouns. gender and pronouns don't define you.

    yeah, that could have been it, except they went on to say about how 'we all act like girls' and 'our skins are girls...' anyway, at the beginning they were just guessing, but we told them to stop and they definitely didn't.

    I'm personally the type who cares little about pronouns and gender. Just calling your friend "she" without foreknowledge could have just been an honest mishap but then going on to argue about it definitely wasn't the right way to go about it.

    Gender and pronouns certainly can't define a person in any sense of the word. We can't even create a definition for what gender is, and pronouns are just terms we use to make sentences easier and avoid repeating proper nouns.

    aa i have 18 entries for the minicomp, half of the contestants haven't made their skin
    round 1 i assign people to use one of the bases but there's not enough bases.

    skin style yeS
    this could work for art style too i think

    so i feel like a lot of people are not super happy with their style
    try to remember that to you, it may look not very good, but to others, it looks great. that's not to say you can't change it- the more you like it, the better it is for YOU. find the style you like to make the best. <3

    ha- it's kind of ironic that I'm saying this as i'm having a bit of a style problem right now. I want my skins to look original. to stand out. but sometimes i feel like i came too late to skinmaking, that all the good styles are taken already. i have to remember that there are so many styles and people are making more, constantly adapting and changing their style, and so am i.

    i hope i get to a place where I'm truly satisfied with my style- that might not happen, but i hope i get to a place where i know that the skins i will be making are the kind of skins i want to make and, while i might change things here and there, that's still my style and i'm proud of it.

    sometimes you have to remember (in anything, not just art) where you began and how far you've come to progress.
    Blue Piranha i dont even know how to make a decent skin, but this makes me feel a little bit better about it, thank you :D

    I wish people would make skins for themselves and not for others.
    Don’t worry about the hearts, diamonds, or comments.
    If you like it, that’s all that matters, yes it feels good to get a lot of positive feedback on a skin, but your skins shouldn’t revolve around that.
    I also wish people would stop worrying about making skins on time or frequently. Stop apologizing for not making a skin in a day, or a week, for going on vacation or just going inactive.


    It’s a hobby not a job, you don’t have to feel pressured to make skins routinely, make them when you want to make them, make them because you like to make them.
