today's skin remakes are....... plague knight and specter knight from shovel knight!! i liked both of these fairly-well when i made them but was really frustrated by the shape of the plague mask on plague knight (and im still not entirely happy w it but i think it's a step in the right direction!!)

with these remakes i was really trying to bring them closer in-line with the reference material (colors + design) while also making the shading more interesting to look at :]

When designing a Minecraft skin, where do you usually get your color inspiration?

Sometimes a small change in the palette can completely change the personality of a skin.

I'm curious how other skin creators approach it:

Aether's Snezhnaya outfit looks to be by far his best outfit, even better than Lumine's Snezhnaya outfit. Except I probably won't be making a skin of it because I chose Lumine and won't have a 3D model of Aether. I just need a lot of motivation, though, which is something I currently lack.

No longer taking skin requests/commissions

With the new function to disable public skin downloads, I've taken the download option off of my Jam contest entries. Everything else is still FTU and accessible like before.

You may be wondering why; and it's a bit of a silly reason. I've seen players mistake my jam entries for FTU skins that ended up getting used on the server I roleplay on too. So when I wanted to still use one myself but then found someone else playing what was basically a dupe of my character, I was like "well.. this is awkward" LOL. So let's I hope don't run into that problem again going forward.

In other news, I was going to resume regular uploads once a kind of personal life cannon event happened. However, it hasn't happened yet - so that's a little awkward, too. I'm ready to resume when it does happen though, and will be happy to come back for another year or half-year.
