Aaaaand final day of dragoncon! I don’t have as much to say about today but figured I’d still post to wrap it all up

I was Chara again today! But I did switch it up a little and add some spooky black face paint so that was fun

I think the theme song of today is just the “Stronger Than You” Chara rewrite cause it was stuck in my head all day lol

-I finally bought a penguin! He’s a little guy with a beanie and a backpack and his name is Dave and I love him

-I also bought an ocarina that was like $60 for my upcoming Saria cosplay and it was WORTH IT

-there was an obsession swap panel and it was the most neurodivergent panel in the entire con. They just. Set all the neurodivergents free in a room together and we went absolutely Feral.

-i met some absolutely wonderful people at this panel they were all so sweet and we were all utterly Vibrating with happy stimmy energy at the end. I also yoinked someone’s stim it’s mine now thanks moss

-several of us went to the vendor hall and by the end we were all just screaming at each other not to look at the items because we’d already spent enough money

-Flowey continued to get more attention than me, but seeing as I made him, I take that as a compliment

-I was kinda worried I’d frighten children with the spooky makeup but a tiny little girl in the bathroom smiled at me!


This weekend has been absolutely incredible and I can’t wait to come back in the future! Conventions are where I meet my people and am in my happy place and I wouldn’t change a thing about dragoncon 2023!

DC day three!




Theme song is probably “This is Our Big Night” from mlp equestria girls cause it was stuck in my head while I was getting ready







Today was Barbara from Genshin! This is my only cosplay that I purchased pre-made online and also the only cosplay I’ve worn before (to momocon!) Kioku went as Jean (she and Barbara are sisters) so we got to match!




-I struggled with my eyeliner for a good 15 minutes




-I got recognized way more than I expected! Maybe 6-7 people? Barbara isn’t a super popular character so I was pleasantly surprised!




-THERE WAS A VENTI COSPLAYER WHO GOT SO EXCITED WHEN THEY SAW ME THEY WERE SO SWEET




-I have seen at least four Nimona cosplayers and this makes me incredibly happy :D




-there was a spiderman photoshoot and there were SO MANY but nothing compared to momocon (who I believe broke the record for most spiderman cosplayers in one spot)




-my wig was Tight but it was fine we were only there for half a day




-kioku rambled to me about a story she’s working on and it was wonderful I love when my friends infodump to me about their passions :D


Tomorrow we’re headed back to the vendor hall! I’m going to be in Chara again and I’m very excited!

Dragoncon day 3!




I think the theme song of today is “Rainbow Connection” because I heard a guy singing it and it’s very fitting:

“…all of us under its spell; we know that it’s probably magic…”




-Today was Chara! I had a flower crown, a knife, and a Flowey the Flower prop I made myself (he wraps around my arm and sits on my shoulder :D)

-I have learned 2 things through this cosplay: 1) Undertale fans are alive and well, and 2) Chara is much more recognizable than Glamrock Chica lol

-on that note, Flowey is more recognizable than Chara apparently! I guess he’s an icon of the game? I had a lot of people compliment my cosplay and ask specifically about Flowey even though they hadn’t played the game

-in other words Flowey got a lot of attention and he’s smug about it

-people are so SWEET AAAAAAAAAAAAA

-the happiness I get when people ask me for photos cannot be expressed with words and it never goes away no matter how many photos I take

-I’m so happy that I’m so happy about having my photos taken because I have major anxiety about being in strangers’ photos (I will literally duck down if anyone turns a phone camera in my direction) but it doesn’t bother me when I’m in cosplay!

-not many Undertale cosplayers here (two sans’s and one frisk, and a squad that we saw yesterday composed of asgore, toriel, frisk, and sans) but plenty of people recognized me!

-so many people audibly gasped when they saw me! I got so many happies!!!

-one of the sans cosplayers was like an 8 year old boy who looked so starstruck when he saw me it was so CUTE

-I heard someone say “but nobody came” as he passed me

-people’s reactions to Chara are the funniest thing I had someone ask me to “please make good decisions” as she pretended to be nervous, and a group of like 3-4 kids were like “don’t kill us please!” And I think another person said it was “good to see me not murdering people” although they could have been talking to Flowey

-so many of the people who talked to me were younger kids or teenagers!

-as people complimented me, the two pronunciations I heard were “kar-uh” and “care-uh”, and nobody said “char-uh”. This is Interesting.

-two Entirely Separate People called me a ray of sunshine today! One of them specified that when they said ray of sunshine, they were including the knife, and another guy said quote: “you’re just a homicidal ray of sunshine!” Is this because of the flower crown? Is this just my essence? I have no idea but somehow I give off sunshine energy even while brandishing a Knife

-I think I’m building arm muscle from holding it weirdly cause of Flowey (it’s very sore). This would be a good thing except it is my Left Arm which I Do Not Use.

-I love how quickly I got accustomed to just. Gesturing with the knife. My left hand was kinda trapped by flowey’s vine so I held my knife in my right hand and used it to 1) point to things/people, 2) wave to people excitedly, 3) move hair out of my eyes, and 4) shield my eyes from the sun

-I couldn’t really happy flap for the same reason but I could kinda wiggle the knife and get a similar feeling!

-we went to the vendor hall. I have been able to mostly hold in my impulse buys, but I am apparently infatuated with blind boxes so I got two for spy x family! They’re super cute and I’m very happy with them :D

-we are returning to the vendor hall tomorrow and/or monday and I will unleash the impulse buys. I don’t really have any specific items I want to return to (just certain stalls) but I would like to acquire a Penguin because they are Important to me.

-I got a tiny duck, a tiny dragon, and a paintbrush from other cosplayers!

-in other words my Horde is Growing >:D




So in summary day 3 was WONDERFUL I got so many happy chemicals and got to meet some amazing people and Chara is my favorite cosplay now thank you g’night

DRAGONCON DAY 2 LET’S GOOOOOO

First of all I think it’s notable that “Wonderland” by Neoni was going through my head the entire day and I think all of the lyrics are Very Accurate to how I felt: “Hello, come in, welcome to the freak show…” /pos

Stuff and Things that Happened:

-forgot to put on foundation (it was fine)

-dipper pines liked my cosplay

-various more instances of “hi Barbie!” (and one said it back to me :D)

-actually many people mistook me for Barbie and I was told I had Barbie energy

-two guys passed me and one went “hi Barbie” and the other one said “no that’s Chica”

-we saw a withered Bonnie that was yellow?? We saw it again later and I think it was like a cross between Bonnie and Chica

-saw a korok that I screamed “GOOD LUCK FINDING YOUR FRIEND” at and their handler went “that’s where we’re taking him right now!”

-there was a Cuphead Show panel and the voice actors spent the entire time dodging around character names cause of the strike and it was HILARIOUS

-the staff was all super nice


-met a super sweet young puppet cosplayer who got so excited to see me and I got to take a photo with her :D

-my dad actually got recognized and asked for photos twice despite cosplaying from an obscure 80s miniseries

-tiny child came to give Many Thoughts at a Star Wars panel—the panelists said and I quote “he kicked our butts last panel”


-there was an incomplete circle of rocks outside and when I completed it a little girl dressed as a korok popped out from behind a statue and gave me a mini snickers wrapped like a korok seed!

-there was a fnaf panel! A bunch of people complimented my cosplay and I got photos with some cool people! Fan interactions are so much fun :D

-squEEEEE LITTLE TINY CHILD CAME UP TO ASK IF I WAS GLAMROCK CHICA AND SHE WAS LIKE “I can tell you’re Glamrock Chica cause I played that game—well I didn’t play that game but I’ve seen it. And Chica is super fast.” SHE WAS SO CUTE MY HEART

DRAGONCON DAY ONE COMPLETE
Imma post about it here because I don’t have anywhere else to lol

• dad and I walked for like half an hour before we found badge pickup
• a guy stood Too Close to me in the line for badge pickup
• some people in the bathroom were discussing events that were definitely not family friendly so I noped out of there
• there was a pink pastel mandalorian that I recognized from momocon maybe? Or Instagram? I’d definitely seen them before I’m just not sure where
• we saw a massive group of owl house people in the same cosplay (I think they were like, guards or something? Idk I haven’t watched it)
• I got to say “hi barbie!” to a group of barbies that we passed
• powerpuff girls + harley quinn mashup I think? They had baseball bats
• when we were walking back to the car we passed a trio of racing mikus and I got to scream “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” and they all cheered
• when I got home mom laughed and said I was buzzing because I was so excited (I had been holding in happy flaps all day)

Tomorrow is the first cosplay day! I’m going as Glamrock Chica and I’m super excited :D
