ExileDev where do you think spigot and bukkit started?
Bukkit (CraftBukkit) started as a modified Minecraft server to allow people to create plugins. Their whole community was already at one site, so it made sense to also host plugins at their site as well.
Spigot is a fork of CraftBukkit. Hosting plugins was a later addition to their community, but again, it makes sense for them since they're the ones who maintain the API for the plugins to work in the first place.
Neither of these sites were created for the sole purpose of hosting plugins, it was a result for what they are.
You can definitely try to beat out the competition (DevBukkit & SpigotMc), but that's simply unrealistic.
It's a bit early to start claiming this, right? As of posting, there are an entire two plugins on your site.
I really don't see this site taking off. DevBukkit is still used, and most devs choose to host their plugins on Spigot these days. You're creating a site in a space where there are already plenty of other sites well established.
I can tell you what not to include: factions. The server world is currently oversaturated with factions servers, and pvp servers in general. Do something slightly more unique than that
A reset would be worth it if you take your time to ensure it's 100% better than how your server is right now. It takes time to achieve a polished, unique server, so don't rush!
Average players only ever expect plots, while builders tend to expect open-world & themed servers. It'll be easier for everybody to find what they're looking for.
I'm not a fan of how the site is trying to monetize itself lately. I can barely view the site on mobile (where I have no adblock whatsoever).
Now, I'm not sure whether or not this lego stuff is a partnership or affiliate link type deal. The lego banner here in the forum doesn't appear to be an affiliate link... only time will tell.
If it installed correctly, you should see an "Optifine" profile in your Minecraft launcher. Is it there or is the problem that it won't create the profile?
