    Skin artists can now choose whether to disable downloads on per skin basis. Why? Because some artists want to share their personal skins, some want to share commissions, and some just want credit and more control over how their work gets used elsewhere.

    When you upload or edit a skin (or mob skin), you'll find a new "Allow public downloads" toggle. Turn it off and:
    • The download button disappears from the page
    • The direct download link is blocked, even if someone has it bookmarked
    • Your skin still shows up fully in listings, your profile, and search. It's just view-only

    This is opt-in and only affects new uploads or skins you edit. Nothing changes for your existing downloadable content unless you flip the switch yourself.

    Artists please note that this feature discourages casual downloads but cannot guarentee complete protection of your work. Hoping to see some high quality inspirational skins that would otherwise never see the light of PMC!

    Does this mean we no longer are going to have annoying "Can download BUT NEVER DO IT OR ELSE!!!" RP skins? (It always confused me as to why they uploaded them instead of just as a blog or something if they never want them used)

    Someone decided they wanted to be rude, mean, try to push me around and bully me about editing someone's skin, posting that edit even when I gave the original creator credit in the description.

    Someone else got mad at me I gave the random rude person the same energy back, decided to be on the rude person's side, and made a whole plot to 'steal one of her skins and change the color, post it, and see what she thinks' as in steal my work, change it, and uploaded it.

    But the best part about it is he gave credit for it, like what I did to the skin that I didn't make, that I made an edit of.

    The thing that's the most frustrating is- I guess I can't be rude to people who are rude to me first, which is funny. And well, that kid is going to find out real fast he's not the only one who uses my work, gives credit, and posts the skin....... That's... kinda my whole thing with making outfit bases and what not.

    Anyway, small rant. All happened on skindex. People are weird, and dumb.

    Someone on skindex reported my photo-based skin of the first ever rose my boyfriend gave me, and got it deleted.

    I am upset to say the least.

    It will only be removed again, and likely much faster. There was also at least 1 other skin that was also removed but it wasn't as meaningful.

    Because it was photo-based most likely. although it was posted half a year ago when i mentioned it, someone went, found it, and reported it.



    Otherwise, skindex doesn't actually tell you when/why or even what skin gets deleted.
