    Hey everyone,

    Batman here once again. I know it's been a little while since I've posted.

    I JUST beat Shovel Knight 🪏the first one (AKA "Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope") on the Nintendo Switch! (It's on my Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove collection I got for my birthday a while ago.)

    I gotta say I really enjoyed this game. It definitely reminded me of and had a lot of 8-bit to 16 bit games I used to play on the Super Nintendo (SNES) when I was a kid back in the 90s.

    It definitely had the DIFFICULTY 😫😭 of all those platformers and some of the enemies and boss fights of those games. Can't COUNT how many time I died.

    The look of the game, graphics, gameplay and definitely the music had a very retro 8 bit NES look, feel and sound to it.

    Many of you have probably played the game, but for those of you who haven't, the premise is very simple. The game is about the heroic Shovel Knight who with his shovel fights, jumps and digs his way through different levels to save his beloved Shield Knight 🛡️ from the evil Enchantress in her Tower of Fate, and also has to fight the knights of the Enchantress' Order of No Quarter.

    I really liked how each boss (the Knights of the Order of No Quarter) had each of their levels specifically themed and tailored to them. (Examples Spectre Knight was in a Haunted Castle/ Graveyard, Treasure Knight was in a submarine, Propeller Knight was in an airship, Plague Knight was in a laboratory, Polar Knight was in the snowy mountains, Mole/Drill Knight was in an underground mountain/ volcano with a lot of rocks and lava, Tinker Knight was in a clock tower, King Knight was in the a castle, etc. etc.)

    I liked playing as Shovel Knight and fighting and digging with his shovel and jumping my way through levels, even though again it was REALLY hard, and I tried to get Shovel Knight all the armor, health, weapons and magic upgrades which definitely helped.

    My favorite Knight in the Order of No Quarter was definitely Spectre Knight. With his cool robes and scythe, his grim reaper like appearance his ability to teleport and summon zombies. Although all the Knights were cool and they all fought in their own way suitable to their namesakes (I.E. King Knight fights with a scepter, Tinker Knight fought inside a giant drill tank, Plague Knight threw poison vials and potions, Mole/ Drill Knight would drill his way and burrow through the ground, etc.)

    I also felt bad for Black Knight who was Shovel Knight's friend and enemy who was only fighting and attacking Shovel Knight against his will because he was being forced to and was being controlled by the Enchantress.

    I REALLY loved the Enchantress as a villain. Maybe because she reminds me of a certain someone (Maleficent ❤️🤩😍🥰) or maybe because I love my evil queens and sorceresses as villains. The final battle with her in the Tower of Fate was definitely epic. I loved her quote of "let us dance together in the abyss!" And how she would fly around the stage throwing purple fireballs, and making purple fire. The way you could hit the fireballs back at her kinda reminds of the boss fights with Ganondorf/ Ganon from Legend of Zelda. The FINAL fight with her where I teamed up with Shield Knight was also really cool, because she kind of did remind me of Maleficent in her dragon form, especially her breathing purple fire out of her mouth.

    It definitely felt rewarding at the end seeing Shovel Knight and Shield Knight together at the end, even though at first I wasn't sure she was going to make it because I thought she was trapped in the Tower of Fate with the Enchantress as it was crumbling, but a part of me felt like she was going to make it.

    I definitely can't wait to check out the other games in the "Treasure Trove" collection where you can actually play as some of the other Knights and get their stories, such as Spectre Knight, but also King Knight and Plague Knight. The other game I have played in the collection is "Shovel Knight: Showdown" which is like an 8 bit NES version of Super Smash Bros where you could play as all the Shovel Knight characters, (including the Enchantress.)

    The game DEFINITELY required ALOT of patience (and failures and dying) to get through, but EVENTUALLY I pulled through and beat it. Kinda like another game I played on the Switch a while ago, "Ghost Parade." All in all it was definitely worth the experience even if was painful 😖.

    Also I'd like to give a shout-out to Sithfruit for introducing me to the game in one of his PMC Match-ups/ Death Battles and also to Escapazition (who also has played this game, and like me has admitted how DIFFICULT it is 😂.)

    Overall 10/10

    I saw Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It was really good.



    Quick Yap Section:

    It had, like, pretty much everything I thought was missing from the other Tom Holland films. I loved the way New York looks, I loved the non-CGI Spider-Man suit with the moving eyes, I liked the soundtrack, I really liked the supporting cast (tbf tho I haven’t seen the Daredevil/Punisher show yet), I thought the dynamic of the action scenes was more impressive, I thought the humor and tone had nice balance, and I enjoyed the way they handled Peter’s character. Really made you feel for him.

    I’m definitely gonna have to give it another watch (because I’m sure there are criticisms you can give it), but this is undeniably the best MCU Spider-Man movie to me.

    (I am a little mixed on the way they took the antagonists of this movie, and it’s not that I think they were bad, buuuut I honestly can’t say why cause spoilers)
