Kind of excited, just got a CNC router. It is kind of a cheaper one but it should be fun to work with. I am still trying to catch up from the holiday though I have a lot going on lately. I am ready for all the summer craziness to be done so I can get to a more normalized schedule.

So I ended up missing my upload day because I got really busy with family obligations over the holiday here. I will try to plan ahead for busy weeks in the future and try to let people know ahead of time on the submission if the next update is going to be further out. I did get everything planned done. I do have extra time to work on the project this week. I am planning on putting the extra time toward the monster pack to try and get everything functioning with that ( I am having a bit of trouble with spawn rules, they don't seem to be working quite as intended)

my goals for this week are to finish rough dirt and snow blocks. These stand out the most when roaming around in the world at the moment. everything else I plan to do as I am inspired.

Ok. So I accomplished my goals for last week which feels good. I still feel like I am super busy, but that is just summer right. Always something going on. I have started helping just a little bit on a group project that looks really cool. I am super excited to see how that one turns out. A lot of talented people working on it. I will def post when they are up and running.

I was not able to put any work into the creatures that I am working on. that is kind of a bummer for me. But I am going to start adding progress points for that pack in my weekly as well. this should help me gauge my progress as well as keeping moving it forward.

      My goals for the week.

      Finish door textures
      crafting bench
      several trap door textures.
      various odd and ends textures.

      Goals for the creature pack.

To release I want to have four monsters ready. There are a lot more that I have thought out but it will take a while to develop and flesh them all out so I thought four was a good starting point.

goal for this week is to finish the models and textures for remaining two monsters and finish all their basic json files to get them into the game.

So this is the time of the week where I set goals for myself to achieve in the coming week. I bit off a bit more than I could chew last week and was not able to get everything done that I wanted to. Mainly because it was a bit repetitive doing large amounts of the same patterns in different colors. Even though I do just overlay over a B/W then add a color layer. A lot of times I end up balancing each individual color so it looks and feels right.

Also I have gotten almost 200 downloads for my texture pack. This absolutely blows me away. When I came here I was expecting to reach very few people. I know it is just a start, this is very exciting for me. I have so much I want to do. I can only try to stay persistent in my work to share the world I want to share.

I want to thank everyone one on this site from other creators to the people who are not in the forefront but use this service. This community is really something else. I hope to be here for a while.

Anyway I have a busy weekend this weekend and will not be taking any time to work on the texture pack or on any new monster models. I may take a little time to do some concept art for some monsters while I am away this weekend. Or perhaps start working on a new banner concept to replace my placeholder one. But overall I am going to plan a smaller update for next week.

My goals for this week are.

      the quartz blocks

      at least 1 door

Start doing 1 or 2 miscellaneous small plants as they are some of the most prominent things left in the open world to do.

Cool :P It helps me keep motivated. As long as I don't over judge what I can do it helps me to keep moving toward my goals. Otherwise I would fall victim to Parkinson's Law and never finish. ;)

So this little blurb is going to be more about the project that I am working on here more so then me, as it is the main reason I am here. Over the past several years, in various attempts to either make a board game or video game, I have been world building. I have so many ideas that I want to get out and I have come to the conclusion that modding Minecraft might be the easiest way for me to get my world and some of the stories tied to its creation out of my head and into some sort of medium.

The world that I have envisioned is called Rhexis. It is a high-fantasy realm with technological aspects. A civilization that destroyed itself after discovering magic. A war with inter-dimensional beings that became the catalyst for multiple dimensions collapsing into one realm.

The whole idea of this world was created to be a bed for any and all my ideas that I could come up with and serves in theory as a garden for my ideas.

I plan to take things slow and take my time to slowely change what I can into parts of the world of Rhexis. Starting simple with a texture pack and working my way up through monsters, biomes, items and so forth. Hopefully over time it will begin to resemble the world in my mind.

I am a father with kids that have outgrown minecraft and I see this as a medium or a canvas of sorts. I hope that others will enjoy the work that I have to share.
