Very odd.

I decided to look this up and it seems I did find some other people talking about the site this file came from. Apparently, it's existed at least since 2021 and has reportedly had other oddities. I saw a Reddit thread from around a year ago where the OP talks about going to an article on the site which had an unrelated image (a photograph of a 1935 meeting between a Vatican ambassador and a particular authority figure of Germany) at the top and also had background music playing for some reason. Don't know if you've already discussed this anywhere, but just thought I'd mention it.

Sadly, I don't have Discord, and I'm not sure how much time I can commit to full-on research towards this subject at the moment, so I'm not necessarily too much help. Nevertheless, I wish you the best of luck in unraveling this mystery.

Personally, this seems a bit like something that could fit into an Internet mysteries-type YouTube video, so it would be kind of interesting if a YouTuber of that sort decided to cover this at some point. That's just my opinion, though.

Although Mojang has made dubious decisions as of late, I wouldn't try to argue that they're the ones "trying to stir up" drama. The ones who want drama are the clickbait-y something-or-othergate YouTubers who make videos like "THE DEATH OF MINECRAFT" and "[​MAJOR ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY FIGURE/GROUP] IS FINISHED!" for shock value and attention. Mojang may be making some poor choices, but I don't have reason to think they're intentionally trying to ruin their own reputation. A lot of this "literally 1984" talk is coming from the ones telling either exaggerated/distorted versions of true events or outright falsehoods in order to get clout. Mojang has been suffering the effects of being owned by a tech company a large number of people despise, and while there are legitimate criticisms we can make because of that, some just want to blow things out of proportion for their own benefits.

By the way, the naming policy lots of people have made a fuss over has existed for years. Of course, maybe a number of people didn't know this because they don't actually look at legal documents (I don't particularly like reading that stuff either, but I still do so now and then to stay on the safe side in some cases) and instead rely on eye-catching third-party sources to tell them stuff, regardless of whether or not said sources are reliable. It's unfortunate what that says about humanity as a race in our modern times; they don't take the time to know the truth and instead accept whatever appeals to their sentiments. Sure, there are legitimate concerns we can have about some stuff (I've personally been concerned with how Mojang seems to be trying to assume more control over what happens in servers, though that has also been happening for a while), but distorting the truth and/or consenting to distortion of the truth as an excuse to express contempt is unacceptable.
