you don't assume someone's name before they tell you. even if you were mistaken on their name, you wouldn't continue to call them what you thought it was after they correct you.

you don't get to have opinions on someone's name and use something different because you don't like it.

sometimes people start to go by a nickname and they might prefer it over the name you're used to calling them. it can take some getting used to, but you'd probably start to call them by the new name. you're not being "put out" by this and i really doubt that thought would cross your mind in that situation.

all of this applies to pronouns too.

Beware of animal rescue videos on YouTube. A lot of people put animals in these cruel situations just to get clout. YouTube also monetizes these videos and makes money off them. This gives people the incentive to keep making them.

Please report that kind of content, channels and do not feed into it.

i feel like this should be said more, and this goes for any social media. unfollow people who make you feel like crap! now people shouldn’t be making you feel like crap on this silly site, but even if you feel you’re being brought down by something you’re seeing just unfollow them! social media is weird, take breaks if you need too, 2024 is the year we get off useless garbages of planforms like twitter, insta, tiktok, even youtube if you aren’t watching it for fun. we shouldn’t be comparing ourselves to influencers, because they’re fake. we don’t need to be addicted to scrolling on social media when it’s bringing us down.
