Stay weary of the Endermen. These tall, eerie creatures always have eyes on you. They stand idly under trees, observing you ; tracking you. Down in the caves, they hide behind boulders and dimly lit corners, waiting for their chance to strike. They'll grasp for any chunk of dirt, any patch of orchids or any bundle of dynamite you leave behind. Are they studying you? Are they interested in our kind? Or perhaps is it something more sinister that they're after? Who are we to say? Whatever it is, stay cautious : their innocuous demeanor is nothing but a cleverly constructed facade.

Don't let your guard down, however harmless they may seem. Come night, and they aren't so timid. They hide themselves amongst the hordes of Creepers and Zombies, but they always stick out like a sore thumb. Their skin is so dark that they shroud themselves in the night sky. They appear by you when you least expect it, but when they're close by, you'll be sure to know. First, you'll hear the alarming blare as it beams itself to you, and next, you'll hear it talk. Gulping and gurgling, it's almost as if they're trying to communicate with you. Studies suggest that they are speaking in old, forgotten languages. Other's say that they're speaking the words of the gods. No one knows - or rather, no one want's to know. They arrive in two's, sometimes even more, like some sort of twisted Noah's Ark. Fun fact - A group of Endermen is called a haunting ; they sure do live up to that name.

Once one of them is near ya, you may notice some things about it. It's figure is like that of a human, but morphed, stretched and tangled into an unrecognizable monster. It's bones bulge through its skin. Skin that is stretchy and dry, like the torn wings of a phantom. Skin that emits such a venomous purple that it makes me sick to think of it. Skin that, if you were to look hard enough, would start to resemble your own. Don't get caught up in such thoughts - these beings are monsters, not men. Savage, gigantic three-clawed mitts lay at the end of their stretched appendages - if they so pleased, they could grab you by the head and end you with the clench of a fist. At the center of their being is a green core that, unlike the rest of their body, is slimy to the touch, and pulsates every so often, spreading whatever vile substance that keeps these things going around the body. Don't gaze upon them for too long, though : it will be the death of you. Let your eyes wander for too long and you'll be staring eye-to-eye with these beings. 2, glowing, precariously mesmerizing eyes staring right at you. 6 pixels of sheer terror.

At this point, you're seen too much.

Most don't live to tell the tale of the Enderman, but the few that do describe unimaginable horrors. Their once tepid face splits open, revealing it's gaping maw, filled with glowing purple pincers, specially evolved to rip you to shreds. As they become locked on to you like a military weapon, they howl. Howl like the wish of a dying sun. The grit in their voice is said to bring a grown man to tears. The ear-piercing pitches will pop your eardrums. The echoes of this moment will never leave your head : it just keeps reverberating on and on and on, driving you utterly insane, and if the screeches don't madden you, then the indescribable pain will. Most survivors say that the pain, much like the bellowing screams, never goes away. They say that they wished the Enderman could have had second thoughts on sparing them, just to put them out of their misery.

There is hope, though - there is one way to counter the Enderman's horrific ways. If you feel like you're being lured into its eyes, carve a pumpkin and drop it on your head. I don't know what those freaks have against us and not Snow Golems, but it works! Look at those eyes all you damn please - it won't hurt you.

And if you do have a one of them on your tail, gun it to the sea. Ender-skin is so unbelievably dry that any moisture triggers a shock and forces them to teleport. You may be left with the mental scarring of the screams, but at least you keep your life. And, hell, it should make for a fun story to tell afterward, right?
