Helldiver

The Helldiver (Monodon inferos) is a Guardian-like creature
often found in the blazing lava pits beneath Basalt Deltas.

Its obsidian & basalt plated skin protects it from the harsh environments of the
deltas, letting the beast not only survive in lava, but thrive where others cannot!

The creature's odd shape and muscular tail enables it to push mounds of
lava behind itself to propel it forward. It uses its strange piston-like
appendages to both assist in buoyancy and to shatter any hardened earth it may come across.

The pairing of the creature's body shape, tail, and spiky appendages allow
for the Helldiver to also be a Hellleaper! Utilizing a mixture of techniques,
the Helldiver can send itself flying upwards from the lava pools; allowing it
to reach an astounding height of up to 18 feet!

However... it's not the LEAP that the being was named for, but the DIVE!
As the Helldiver begins its descent, it quickly retracts its spikes and waits
until touchdown to deploy them once more.
The combined force of the dive, as well as the spikes, sends molten lava and shattered earth
flying outwards several feet in all directions at an incredible speed, making this harsh brute a formidable foe indeed!
