The wendigo is part of the traditional belief system of a number of Algonquin-speaking peoples, including the Ojibwe, the Saulteaux, the Cree, the Naskapi, and the Innu. Although descriptions can vary somewhat, common to all these cultures is the view that the wendigo is a malevolent, cannibalistic, supernatural being. They were strongly associated with winter, the north, coldness, famine, and starvation.

It takes time and patience. You naturally get better the more you skin, so I'd recommend to just start making them. It took me a while before I could make a skin that looks like this, and even now I'm still trying to improve.

Why do people think "Beast body" when they draw Wendigo? They were a cannibalistic cursed tribe of Algonquin origin. The whole menacing deer skull part or combining chimera pieces into a some king of hulking monster as the image seems to be more a media thing, especially live action horror media. I remember seeing it in Grimm way back when on TV.

Ehem. . . Because it looks a tad bit cooler than a design that's pretty much The Rake with antlers-

You're right about the beast body thing. I saw multiple entries doing the traditional wendigo and I wanted to do something to make it stand out among them.
