Hey guys! Today, I'm proud to announce the alpha of my latest mod, The WikiBook mod! Originally part of a much larger mod, I decided to take it and expand on it greatly! What is it? Well, Let's find out!

The wikibook is a new type of book, found in the Creative menu. A recipe will be added soon, However the Recipe API in Blazeloader was currently changed and isn't included in the current beta!

While holding the book, right-clicking on any (of the first 30 blocks in the game currently, I'm adding blocks as we speak!) will provide you with a nice GUI, giving you 3 lines of text about the block, and a button allowing you to go straight to the Wiki page of that block! It's currently in Alpha, and only supports the first 30 block ids, but I'm constantly adding more! Blocks that can be interacted with already (note blocks, crafting tables) can be interacted with by pressing shift and clicking on it with the book!

I hope you enjoy this mod, and leave feedback if you want to request any features!

Current bugs:

Blazeloader does not yet have a name API, so the item shows up as Item.Guide Book - This will be fixed soon

No crafting recipe*

Installation:

Install Blazeloader

Launch Minecraft

Close Minecraft

Place the zip in the mods folder in versions

Relaunch Minecraft!

I think it would be nice if the wikibook offered more technical information about minecraft, but that is just what i think.. i don't know.

Well it allows you to go to the Wiki page too, but I'm going to try to add crafting recipes - See, I don't want the book to reveal too much about the block (making a book that knows everything is overpowered, but either way a player can open the Wiki, so I added the Wiki button)

Okay If I spotlight this mod ^-^ Well done on it by the way! It's looking great, also as a recommendation until the API is sorted. Why not go into the default CraftingRecipes.java file and just add your own one, It'll work fine but take down compatability

Go ahead! I've actually got a newer version on my PC with more blocks, so I'll send you a ZIP later when I get a change with the new update (it fixes some bugs too!) BL has a crafting API, it just changed recently and I'm using the new version while the current release is the old crafting API - I might ask if I can get him to host the new version and then I'll add a recipe! I'll get to work on finishing off the current version and I'll send you a PM before the end of the day with the new blocks!

Thanks! It's in really early alpha but I thought I'd release it for testing! More blocks will be added soon!
