The void below minecraft is something that I have always wanted access to. But with bedrock in the way, that could never come true.

So I created this mod. Every breakable bedrock mod I have seen was far too unbalanced, or just not at all interesting. This is my take on a balanced approach to the harvest of bedrock, whilst simultaneously adding ways to use it in construction. As can be seen above, bedrock can not only be mined, but also made into a new brick form. This allows for constructiona as strong as bedrock, without the ugliness of it. The glass block is just as indestructable, whilst allowing you to see through it.

Every block added by this mod has the strength and explosion resistance of bedrock. Bedrock requires a diamond pickaxe to mine, and takes roughly thirty-five seconds per block.

-Install minecraft forge
-Drag the JAR file for this mod into minecraft's 'mods' folder

I have an idea: you need to craft the diamond pick with something to be able to mine bedrock with it. And an item to reclaim items that have fallen through the void.

I personally think a new tool would be good for this, due to so many people using bedrock for its use as an indestructible block. Anyways nice mod!

Back in the old days you could find places where the bedrock didn't connect, giving access to the void. It was really cool to have an open space at the bottom of the world, into nothingness.

Nothing really. I just thought that aesthetically, a giant hole to the void was pretty cool to have.

How about add in a slightly faster way to mine bedrock? Like add in some kind of crazy hard tool that can mine it at the speed that a diamond pick mines obsidian but the tool could only work on bedreock? Idk, it may or may not make it unbalanced so I don't know....
