Welcome to the coffin mod! In this mod when you die, a coffin will be buried underneath a layer of dirt and mycelium when you die. Your equipment will be inside the coffin... but not in the way you think! I will leave that for you to find out!

Defaultly, a cobblestone with a sign saying R.I.P (Playername) will spawn. If you install the Tombstone Mod the cobblestone with sign will be replaced with a tombstone! NOTE: As this mod has been updated to 1.7, the tombstone mod is no longer compatible with it. If you are looking for the 1.6 version of the Coffin Mod, you can download it Here
undefined
Because the equipment is "inside" the coffin, there will be no items in the tombstone.

Yes to both questions! If you really enjoy my mods and want to help improve them and get more out there, donating really helps. For starters, my parents aren't too keen on the idea that I spend so much time making mods. As soon as I find an opportunity to move out, this won't be an issue, of course. But some extra funds can prove to them that I am doing something worthwhile!

Donations will also help me advance my coding ability through online coding courses, and help me purchase better audio and image creating programs to aid in mod creations. It makes my job easier, and helps me get content to you faster! =)

I am the owner of this mod. You are not allowed to profit in this mod in any way. You may not reupload this mod. You may not have a link that leads to this page or the mods download that allows you to profit.(I.E. Through the use of adf.ly) You may, however, have this mod in a modpack as long as you are not profiting from it. If you do use this mod in a modpack, the page of the modpack MUST have a link to this page. Also you may do videos with this mod in it as long as you have a link to this page that does not cause you to profit.

1.7.10? does that mean no one will complain about it only being in 1.6.4! Looks pretty cool, you should add craftable coffins that work as beds, maybe like vampire coffins that let you sleep at day time ;p

Yeah, I decided every new mod of mine will be 1.7.10 since 1.7.10 is the biggest mod version now(If you make a mod for any later version people will ask for downgrade xD) . Not to mention I'm a bit older so I'm a bit less stubborn about updating.

That's a pretty cool idea, I will likely add it eventually! Imagine opening up a coffin to go to sleep at night. =P
Lol! I totally agree with what you said about the mods needing to be 1.7.10! I personally don't like 1.8 or 1.9 as mod versions!

Yeah! I have had 2 people ask for 1.10.2(for 2 different mods). I just ignored them lol, of all versions to ask for, the most unstable and newest mod version xD

Some people just don't understand anything about mods......

Try looking into the Enderman code for teleportation, and apply it to the ghost. Try having it teleport behind it's target every now and then. Even better, make him teleport away less then a second after the player looks in it's direction - giving the player just enough time to see him before he disappears. As for the items, try making them drop randomly every time the player turns and sees the ghost.

Funny thing is, I did something pretty similar in a different mod that I am working on. It's not a ghost exactly, but it's still creepy. If I do it to the ghosts in here I wouldn't need to look at the enderman code, teleporting entities isn't that hardest thing to do.

I have been modding for years, so it's quite rare that I have to look at the minecraft source code when adding features, although updating to a newer version is a different story. =P

I know teleporting is easy, but I believe the enderman has code to teleport behind the player. I've been modding for years too, and might even attempt this. In fact, for a Herobrine sort of mod, it wouldn't be bad.

Last time I looked at the enderman code I recall it not having code to teleport behind you, rather just near you. Which, of course has a chance to be behind you. I did create code for a mob teleporting behind you, it also teleports away if you look at it for about a second. It's not a herobrine style mod, rather that mob is just one small part of it.

With a bit of broad ray tracing, you could probably make some sort of Weeping Angel from Doctor Who mod, too. But some sort of ghost that haunts you would be awesome, maybe even for a survival story kind of thing.

I kind of did that actually, with a second monster. However, I decided that following you when you are not looking at it is a bit overused, so I made it charge towards you if you do look at it, all while making a frighting sound and showing an eye on your screen. I don't quite remember if I did ray tracing or not, it was a while ago. But I'm pretty sure I did something a bit less resource heavy than raytracing, I'll have to check later =P

Can you just make a 1.7.10 version?I really want this mod.I dont want the tombstone mod because I already have custom npcs mod which has gravestones.Meaning when i just die in minecraft,Im going to find the place where I died and place a gravestone and mark my minecraft name on it.

The tombstone mod not being 1.7 is not the main reason this mod won't update. Do you have any idea how much work it is to update to a later version? Forge changes the way almost EVERYTHING is registered, named, etc. with each and every update. I'm sorry, I am used to 1.6, If I switched to 1.7 my mods would be less quality for a while until i get used to it. It's not that hard to use 1.6 is it?

Not trying to offend anyone but if you make these mods for fun and don't want to be yelled at for updates and the like, just don't make them public. As for your complaints of not updating the mod and it running like a turtle, you're kinda wrong. I don't have anything close to a gaming computer but modded minecraft runs fine most of the time. you may not be allocating enough ram, or your PC may be a potato who wants to burn a certain sentient AI.

Not making them public? Thats worse than not updating them to a later person. I make fun mods, and then want to share them with the world. I will deal with complainers, If people want to play my mods enough they will just have to downgrade their version. Its worth dealing with people to be able to share my mods.  "As for your complaints of not updating the mod and it running like a turtle, you're kinda wrong." Okay I can see how you think running like a turtle is an invalid statement, but my others? I have every right not to update my mods especially since I have little time and make mods for fun. Should I spend the little time I have doing the boring task of updating? By the way, only one person has "yelled" at me for updates. Most people just ask if it has been updated. Alright, as for the running like th turtle thing, modded 1.7 is no problem, usually. But the forge dev version is always much laggier than the normal version and is very hard to test my mods with. But like I said before, lag isn't the main point. Also, nice Portal reference! =P

EDIT: I just thought of something else that most people who don't make mods don't know. What the process of updating to a new version is. When minecraft updates, forges new version changes the names of ALL the methods and fields, and usually changes things like how to register everything such as mobs and packets(used for server-client side compatibility) . So every time I had to update a version I would have to spend a very long time figuring out everything they decided to change. And if I have 2 versions of the mod, when I make a change I have to make it twice.

Its not so bad in normal minecraft, but in the development version its very bad I can barely even test my mods. It could have been the forge version I had or the fact that I have a laptop, but lag isn't really the main reason I dont want to update to 1.7. You obviously have a gaming computer and are used to no lag. Other people do not have the same computer as you, so don't try telling other people that somethings not laggy, because it could be laggy for them.

1.9 is right around the corner. If I update my mods, why would I just update them 1 version up rather than all the way? 1.9 is the combat update, so if I updated my mods I would rather them update to a version were they made combat better.

Actually, i have coded myself, on my account i have DropChest which (isnt mine, but i revived) i had to edit some of the code to get to work from 1.1R4 to 1.8.7

Sounds like you don't know how to code, you just know how to mess around with the minecraft source until it works.
