Flan's Mod Ultimate 2

Flan's Mod Ultimate 2 is a modern reimplementation and expansion of Flan's Mod for Minecraft Forge 1.20.1. The project rebuilds the original engine to better fit modern Minecraft while maintaining compatibility with legacy content packs whenever possible.


In addition to bringing Flan's Mod to modern Minecraft, the project focuses on improved performance, stability, easier content-pack development, and new features beyond the original implementation.

Flan's Mod Ultimate 2 aims to preserve the gameplay style and extensive content-pack ecosystem of these earlier projects while rebuilding the underlying systems for modern Minecraft.

Many of the core gameplay systems are already fully playable, while others are currently being implemented.

⚠️ Important: Content Pack Conversion

Always create a backup of your content packs before placing them into the flan folder.

Legacy content packs are automatically processed and converted to the new Minecraft 1.20.1 content pipeline when the game starts.

Although the conversion process is designed to preserve your packs, it may modify generated or processed files as part of the migration process.

It is strongly recommended to keep an untouched backup of your original content packs before using them with Flan's Mod Ultimate 2.

Goal

The long-term goal of Flan's Mod Ultimate 2 is to provide a modern, high-performance successor to the original Flan's Mod while remaining familiar to existing players and content creators. The project aims to combine full military sandbox gameplay with an improved engine, modern rendering, better tooling, and long-term maintainability.
