Gemcraft

Gemcraft adds new magic gems, that grant players special abilities including two active and five passive abilities. The difference is, that active abilities need to be held in your mainhand while passive ones just require the gem to be anywhere in your inventory. You can craft the new empty Gems and "infuse" the abilities into them thanks to magical items from the vanilla game.

The passive abilities are:

- Regeneration
- Resistance
- Night Vision
- Invisibility (no particles)
- Conduit Power (only while in water)

The active abilities are:

- Speed
- Levitation + Slow Falling


You can see the crafting recipe for every gem on the pictures including the God Gem I haven't talked about yet. The God Gem solves a really annoying problem when using these gems. Normally, they just take up so many inventory slots, although most of the gems don't even need to be controlled individually, because they're passive. The God Gem allows you to combine the four most important passive abilities (Regeneration, Resistance, Night Vision and Conduit Power; I left out Invisibility, because constant invisibility is more of a disadvantage when playing with friends, because they can't see you) into one single Gem, that only takes up one inventory slot and gives constant saturation and fire resistance as bonus effects.

Because these Gems are really powerful, you'll need to defeat the ender dragon for the dragons breath to craft empty Gems and the Wither two times for the stars to craft the God Gem.
