Play your tunes (mp3/ogg/wav/m4a/flac) inside Minecraft. Browse your folders (and drives) and play the songs in them. Also opens playlists (m3u/pls). Not exactly a necessary mod, but I was bored waiting for MCP to ever update

Press J while in game to bring up the interface. In-game, you can press P for play/pause, or [ and ] for previous and next track, or - and = for volume down and up. These are all bindable (and unbindable) in the minecraft controls menu. Double click file to play. Volume and position in song are adjustable. Remembers your last used folder (and volume)

Mod Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Z7G-yMXn3Y
Mod review (auf Deutsch): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gppbvqOh6X0

TODO:
  • DONE add OSD (On Screen Display). still TODO - improve it. Show somewhere other than in chat perhaps, or display a graphic for play/pause/stopped or something
  • "Now playing" field in interface. Probably an editable "Current directory" field as well so one can change directories without clicking through the whole file tree.
  • DONE maybe a convenience link in the root directory pane to the Minecraft music folder :) You can still get there, through c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\.minecraft\assets\virtual\legacy\music(orRecords). OMG. Yeah definitely a shortcut to that haha
  • read id3 tags and ogg tags maybe
  • allows songs to be queued to play next (outside their normal order)
  • add shuffle button
  • possibly edit/create playlists

Known issues:
  • occasional troubles with VBR MP3s. Variable bitrate may or may not work.
  • seeking in m4a encoded with lossless ALAC codec works fine, unless it is mono (not stereo). If it's mono, seek breaks past 25% or so. Just have to listen to it in order ;)

modpacks: This may be used in modpacks if

  1. you give credit / link to this page
  2. you do not make money from the pack (ie it is not hosted behind adf.ly links or things like that)
Install:

  1. install liteloader (it is required)
  2. download the jukebox .liteloader file and put it in your minecraft/mods folder (downloads for 1.7.10, 1.8 and 1.9 at the download link)
  3. select the liteloader profile in the launcher (the liteloader installer can chain this to Forge, so this mod works fine with Forge too)

1.7.10, 1.8, 1.9, 1.9.4, 1.10(.2), 1.11, 1.11.2 and 1.12 available at the download link.
Even older versions (all for Liteloader)
1.7.2

make sure you have the latest version of Liteloader for 1.10.2. The mod for 1.10.2 works with 1.10 as well, using a feature that wasn't in the first release of Liteloader for that version of Minecraft.

Also make sure you don't actually have mineampStuff.litemod.zip (be sure it actually has the right extension)

how about you do it. http://www.mediacollege.com/microsoft/windows/extension-change.html except change it to .litemod because that's what it is supposed to be. And while you are at it use a browser that doesn't change the extension of files you download, like Firefox

How would you go about making it so that the mod can actually see the files? Do you need to put them in your .minecraft folder or what? I'm having trouble cause it's only showing the ingame music.

browse to the folder they are in. the initial page has links to your documents folder, and any drives on your machine (c:, d: etc) drill down to them.

If you are in the Minecraft music folder doubleclick the .. (parent folder) icon at the top to go back up a level. Continue to the root level, then doubleclick the drive and folder then subfolder your music is in

Hey MamiyaOtaru,

Is it possible for you to backport this litemod to 1.8.9? It would be amazing to have litemod while playing Minecraft and listening to music without having a music player open as well. I know it may be a lot of work trying to backport it, but hopefully you could get it done.

Thanks,
Nerokin

do you mean in the menu screen, or during regular gameplay?  If the song switching while playing the name of the new one shows in chat for a while.  The field I was thinking of in the TODO was for the menuscreen, but I wouldn't mind expanding the On Screen Display to always show the name of the current song (optionally)

by next do you mean ] (in-game) or the next button in the UI?  Are you in a directory with music?  Can you play anything in a different directory?

Or by "nothing" do you mean the mod isn't there at all?  Did you launch with the liteloader profile, or is it a different one?

Ok heres the story. I downloaded the mod and downloaded Revenge.mp3. I was listening to it and decided to put all my music in a folder. I downloaded MiningDiamonds.mp3. I played it and it worked fine. Then I tried to play revenge again but it played Mining Diamonds. So I restarted MC and removed them from the folder thinking they'll conflict. Then I click NEXT on the desktop icon and nothing happens.

what map?  what in the world are you talking about?  Do you mean the icon for the Desktop shortcut you can see in the root directory of the Jukebox UI?  No you are not supposed to click next.  That's to open the *next song*.  But there are no songs in the root directory.  You have to open a directory with some songs in it first.  If the songs are on your desktop, double click the desktop shortcut to open the desktop directory.  Then, IF THERE ARE SONGS THERE you can press play, or next, or doubleclick one of the songs

It took me a while to finally find out what mod it was but there was a mod incompatible with this, Its Optifine, Now it is compatible but with the GUI, if you double click on a song, it will crash, So you have to click on the song (once) and click play instead, Not a too bad bug, but can get annoying sometimes.

so both the line numbers in the log and the crash itself indicate you do not have the newest version.  Do check for that when you get a crash (also see update log).  I fit persists with the latest version (post the name of the file you have) let me know!
