The Ore Detector:
Well here you are! This mod adds new items, the Ore Detectors, which, once charged up, can do a 'scan' of the area and give you a rough indication of the distance to the nearest ore vein.
The regular Ore Detector has a range of 20 blocks, scans for 1 second, and needs 10 seconds to recharge.
The Golden Ore Detector has a greater range (30 blocks), scans for twice as long, and needs only 7 seconds recharge time.

Usage

When you right click it, it will heat up and glow. The brighter it is glowing, the closer you are to an ore. It will then 'burn out' and need to be left a while to recharge. (10 seconds for regular, 7 seconds for Golden).

Crafting Recipes:

Most of the blocks are crafted with three of the original blocks in a row, like the vanilla blocks.

Diamond slabs are crafted with 3 diamonds in a row.

Lapis lazuli slabs are crafted with 3 pieces of lapis in a row.

Bookshelf slabs are crafted with three books in a row.

Ice slabs are crafted with 3 buckets of water.

FlintCraft:

Flint:

Flint armor is slightly worse that iron armor, being less durable.

Flint tools have the durability of iron tools, but the speed of stone tools

Flint swords are slightly less powerful than iron swords

Sharpened Flint:

Sharpened flint is made in a sharpener

Sharpened flint tools have lower durabiity, near wood, but near diamond cutting speeds

Sharpened flint swords are nearly as powerful as diamond, but with low durability

Tempered Flint:

Tempered flint is made in a furnace

Tempered flint armor is between iron and diamond durability

Sharpener:

works like a furnace, fueled by redstone

Takes in flint and gives out sharpened flint
