Now you can finally install mods easily on your Mac!

Don't you agree? Going through the process of modding Minecraft is often a pain. With all of the fantastic mods on Planet Minecraft, we are all modding all the time now. Here's your solution: an automatic mod installer. There are plenty out there for PCs, but Macs are often overlooked.
Installation

To install this program, start by clicking that download button. If a ZIP file appears in your downloads, open it (this doesn't always happen). Then you'll see an application (it may be inside a folder) with a robot (Automator) icon. Simply open this, and you are on your way to installing that mod you have always wanted!

How To Use

  1. Make sure Minecraft is closed.
  2. Open the file. It should start running in the background, denoted by a spinning gear in the menu bar.
  3. A "Choose URL" box should appear. If there is any default link in it, remove it.
  4. Paste in the URL of your file (scroll down for more on this). Click continue.
  5. Wait for your Mac to say "Minecraft modded successfully", and for the spinning gear to disappear. Go ahead and open your newly modded Minecraft!

Finding the download URL

Finding the link to a mod's download URL is often complicated, since there are many different scenarios.

Example 1: If you're choosing a mod to download from Planet Minecraft, look for the download link. Right-click it, and click copy link. Easy! Note that this does not always work if you chose the File Mirror button.
Example 2: Let's say a mod was after an (Ad link removed), so you would click "Skip Ad" to instantly download it. Right-click the "Skip Ad" button and choose copy link.
Example 3: This time a mod could be downloaded through MediaFire after (Ad link removed). Click the "Skip Ad" button normally, and then right-click the "Download" button in MediaFire so you can click Copy Link.
Unfortunately, there is no standard way of finding the "Copy Link" button. One tip, however, is that after you copy the link, it should end in .zip.

Q: Can I install multiple mods at once?

A: Yes, just add more links into the URL list.

Q: Can I change this program myself?

A: Yes, since it's a simple Automator application.

Q: Is this a full-featured program?

A: No. I'm still working on it, but now it's in a good enough state for functioning properly (hopefully).

Q: There is a bug in your program!

A: PLEASE leave a comment or send a private message, as I always want to know how to improve my creations.

Q: Will you make this for Windows?

A: Not for a while, anyway, since there are already so many automatic mod installers out there.

Q: Does this work for every mod?

A: No, not currently. If a mod asks that you put part in the "mods", "config", or "resources" folders, this program currently has no automatic way of detecting that. Sorry.

Update already? Yes. It is a simple, but fatal, bugfix. Changes:
à à à à à à à à à à à à - Changed unzip script so it works with any username.
à à à à à à à à à à à à à à à à à à à à - When file was unzipping, it looked for my name. I fixed this mistake so it would always look for the current user directory. This bug was truly fatal, unless you had my name.

Sorry to everyone who have already downloaded this! Remember, if there's a still a fatal bug, please let me know. Thanks.

So i try to download the spiderman mod from colllassi from planet mine craft and when i try to download it with this thing it says "Check the actionà ¼s properties and try running the workflow again." why is this!!! plz answer soon!!! and it said something about run shell script encountered an error??

I can't actually add your mod to the installer, as it works for many mods. However, I can explain to do it!
1. Open it.
2. Click add and insert this link: files.minecraftforge.net/minecraftforge/minecraftforge-universal-recommended.zip
3. Click add and insert this link: www.planetminecraft.com/mod/slimymod-requires-forge/download/file/4972565/
4. Click Continue and wait. You're done!
