Hello, I have finished the mod (request).
Thanks to Karthus1 for the idea!

This is a simple mod that allows you to smelt down Obsidian into plates. These plates can then be used to make various stone-based blocks more resilient, but still breakable in a reasonable amount of time.

Shoot, sorry. I got tied up building a quadrotor, and I had summer work for school. And a lot of other programming stuffto do for a job. And I had to learn piano, and study for SAT.. I think this mod is probably dead, but I am looking to do a new one in the future, and will probably implement some of these mechanics.

Good luck. Minecraft modding is what got me to learn Java, and I wrecked the AP exam last year, so people have no right to say Minecraft is a waste of time.

and if i do re-make it do i have full permission to use your textures (too lazy to make my own)and mebbe a little your code and repost it on pmc?
(or i'll just start from scratch if i think i can do better :P)

Well, I haven't modded since 1.4 (obviously), so I don't know about tutorials now, other than that the API is really different from when I modded. For Java, I suggest the oracle learning path, and then something to practice coding, like Codeforces.

And yes, you (karrthus1) can use the textures.

I know, I think I'll skip to 1.7. This time, the de-compiler script is breaking the eclipse workspace. I'm sorry this is taking so long to update. I'm really busy with some stuff right now, but I would like to have this up to the latest version by mid-summer, as well as another mov in progress. ^__^
