Graphical Interface for Creating Custom Items and Generating Json data

Overview:

I've been searching a bit and I couldn't find a really easy to use Graphical Program to create awesome custom items for minecraft. By this I mean a program that actually generates the raw json data from the created item that has been constructed via a user friendly, easy to use interface.

So the time has come and my friend and I have started working on such a program. The first release will be item editor only (with enchantments, item modifiers, visual modifiers) and if it is a success we plan to expand the program to be able to generate more complex json codes (mob spawner with custom mobs wearing custom items, spawning in a custom condition and place).

Warning: Download contains an EXE file renamed!
Note: Download package checked with Norton 360. More protection coming soon.

ToDo list:

  • Enchantments are stored in a 0-based value instead of 1-based.
  • Add images to program - partially done
  • Add more screenshots to project - partially done
  • Attribute adding bug: values are not stored properly.
  • Add images of new Prismarine items.

Released Versions:

0.6
The currently uploaded version is a pre-alpha one.
Not all of items are in, there are visual bugs.
As far as I know it does not crash.
I haven't included an installer yet, just the pure exe and data files.
0.7
I added an installer so it will check for necessary software to be installed.
0.8 and 0.8b
  Added Save/Load functions.
  Minor fix for Enchantment panel.
0.9 and 0.9b
Added images of items (hopefully all of them).
Fixed Attribute Modify bug, when changing values were not saved.
Fixed load bug, where item name were not displayed properly.
Fixed visuals of long lore text.
  Fixed some bugs.
  Modified the visuals a bit.
Upgraded project so it can be easily integrated into future project.
Release 1.0
  Fixed some bugs.
Updated backround code to be faster.
Upgraded project so it can be easily integrated into future project: EntityEditor

  Fixed several loading reletad bugs.
  Reworked background code for loading.
Added 2 new (snapshot) items (prismarine shard and crystal). No image yet.

I am working on a MineCraft Entity Editor, with the same concept as this one. Stay tuned.

Version 1.0 Live!

I think all major bugs have been fixed. Runtime memory and processor usage have been decreased. You may notice a small change. There is a OK button on the right top corner. This currently closes the program right away (it seems) actually it is there for a reason. I have been working on a similar project: MineCraftEntityEditor to get Json data program. Same easy to do interface, but now you can edit custom entities, and you can add custom items to the custom entities. Basically this project got involved into the other.

Stay tuned, and thanks for the support. Please contact me if you need any information!

For example, at the buttom switch to Give Command mode. Now you will see a give command in the output textbox. Ctrl+C, the content of it. Switch to MineCraft, and Ctrl+V it into chat or command block. Simple it is.

Well, this is a standalone program, but uses 1.7.9 and known 1.8 features/datas. I didn't implement a lot of 'old' (pre 1.6) features.

Hey man, this should get way more diamonds than it already has. Thank you for this easy-to-use program. Who knows, might get more diamonds in the future.
