I think it's better to work on something that doesn't exist yet then something that is already out there if you make something that is already out there you should add new futures that other pages doesn't have. (just saying).

As i worked on Minecraft items ID page it took me long time to make. Anyway i think this will took you few weeks to add everything that you can craft.

But NEI is in-game which is a BIG deal. Not to mention it can automatically fill in a crafting recipe for you. Just to add to what you said, why would we waste time installing this when we have the minecraft wiki?
