The focus of this mod is to take nuisance items that we tend to collect a lot of at times but don't really use much beyond a certain point, and turn them into attractive new blocks. All can be used for building, some as smelting fuels and some for other things...like making Olympian Armor that will change how you explore the overworld and nether.
How It Works
This mod introduces a red-stone powered Item Compactor that
takes things like Sand for example, and compacts it into a
new block as hard as Obsidian that can withstand explosions. Many blocks can be crafted into stairs, fences, slabs & walls as well. Leaves can be compacted into a block that doubles as a furnace fuel that will burn like wood planks. It takes 9 blocks of most items to make the compacted version. Finally, 9 coal blocks can be compacted into a diamond.
Textures
The textures used are 64x64 in the version you can download on this site. There are 16x16 and 64x64 versions available on CurseForge for 1.12.2.
There is a 1.15.2 64x64 version there as well.

Added Blocks
The Item Compactor: This block makes the rest possible. It compacts the materials into similar looking materials that are as hard as Obsidian. From there the rest can be crafted.


Compacted Sand
(comes with stair, fence, slab & wall blocks)


Compacted Dirt
(comes with stair, fence, slab & wall blocks)


Compacted Cobblestone
(comes with stair, fence, slab & wall blocks)

Compacted Gravel
(comes with stair, fence, slab & wall blocks)

Compacted Glass block
(explosion proof AND comes with stair, fence, slab & wall blocks. No glass slabs or stairs in 1.12.2.

Compacted End Stone
(comes with stair, fence, slab & wall blocks)

Compacted Netherrack
(can be used as super furnace fuel to smelt 720 items AND comes with a stair, fence, slab & wall block.)
Olympian Armors
These armors give the wearer the ability to either swim indefinitely under water with the Neptune Armor OR be completely fire resistant and swim in lava with the Hades Armor. They are a bit expensive to craft but the benefits make it worth it.

NOTES:

1. The stair blocks that can be crafted from the new hard blocks are resistant to being destroyed by a single explosion BUT will be knocked out of place. A double TNT explosion will destroy them.


2. No hopper support at this time.
3. In the 1.12.2 version the leaf compacting is done in the Crafting Table.

After some interesting feedback I now offer a 16x16 resolution (blocks only) option for this mod on CurseForge. I'll still have the main 64x64 version posted here on this site. There is a glitch with the explosion resistant glass blocks, stairs & slabs in version 1.12.2 that allows a sort of xray effect that I'm working on fixing.
