How do you choose colors for a Minecraft skin? 🎨
When you're creating a Minecraft skin, how do you choose the colors?
I’ve noticed that a good color palette can make a huge difference, especially when trying to make a skin look unique without using too many colors.
I'm curious how other skin creators work:
Do you start with a specific palette?
Take colors from real images?
Experiment until something looks right?
Use Minecraft color references?

it depends what skin I’m making. Usually when it’s a reference, I use an image and take the hex codes, and then do a hue shift as needed. (Moreso recently)
if I’m experimenting, just until it looks right. A bit more fine tuning is requires as there isn’t usually a direct reference, and requires a bit more creative work.
palletwork I’m still lacking in. I haven’t used a specific pallet before, but I usually use the same or similar pixels already used within the skin. -

I know everybody’s got their favorite seasons, but this will always be prime ninjago for me. SoG/Hunted is by far my favorite era of the show.

Definitely. SOG was the closest thing we got and probably will ever get to a non-fantastical story, and it's the only season where the villains actually succeed.
It's too bad later seasons couldn't live up to how dark this went. -

added a new color, put everything on its own layer (everything was on layer three before, added the light outline on the purple and teal blocks, added a dark outline inside the normal outline
(i know the glow in the top right is broken but its only broken when youre playing the level as in NOT in the editor so i cant really fix it)
