This is a piston elevator that works 100% in ALL versions of minecraft (that have pistons and redstone). Yes it goes both up and down. It works by using memory storage with stone blocks and glass along with some simple logic for the up and down buttons.

After pressing the button, be a bit patient. It takes a few seconds to get going and it doesn't move very quickly. If it doesn't move correctly, or doesn't move at all, try one of the following spoilers. If they don't work, then re-download the map or comment here stating your problem.



You may ask, "why would you make such a slow elevator? There can't possibly be any use for it!" My answer is that it's about principle, and the fact that it can be done. This elevator is much more complex than the ones that don't work anymore, and uses precise timing to move pistons perfectly. I believe that it's a fine piece of work and I hope you agree.
