Hi everybody :)
i was introduced to planetminecraft by a friend of mine who told me it was a good way to get a little more recognition for your projects n' stuff, so here i am :) A little while back i was playing around with pistons when for one reason or another an old project of mine popped into my head. i remembered that the main limiting factor for an ultra high itemrate mob trap, is the speed at which one kills the monsters. I immediately i put 2 and 2 together and so, about 3 hours later the mkI was born!
it yielded about 56,000 items per hour which seemed to slowly drop off over time to about 300, which sucks. also as you can see it is f*ck ugly:
so i gave up and went to bed rather pissed at myself.
a couple days later i was bored and decided to give it a second shot, this is what i came up with.
meet the mkII, at 86,000 items per hour it was the best yet, and (afaik) the first trap to beat tarouns biofactory3_rev5! i was so pleased with it that i made this awesome youtube video and posted it up on mcf :)
mcf here
download the save
and an epic youtube teaser video thing:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8RRP2MMZ10
also i made a quick 3 minute video explanation outlining the way that the whole thing works
m.youtube.com/watch?v=Nc5uJmbZvOk
then it was beaten, and i was sad. so once again i tried to improve on it.
it took a lot of trial and error and a few ideas from some rather helpful subscribers but i finally got what i wanted, the mkIII,107,000 items per hour.
the new save is here
and last but not least a quick vid of me testing it out:

enjoy!
