It's been a very long time since I have uploaded a building, so here you go guys. This is my second attempt at a real NYC Building. From Bryant Park, you can see the towering building across the street. Does the architecture seem familiar to you? That's why this art deco tower was built by the very same architects who constructed the World-Famous Empire State Building! Although having a great location for a skyscraper, being next to a park, it is nowhere near the fame and recognition of the ESB. I've been anxious to make this, but because of other projects in the city, I've had to hold this off for so long! Well finally, here it is!
Texturepack Used (City and Renders): Greenfield Official Texturepack - 1.8.1
500 Fifth Avenue is a 60-Story Art Deco skyscraper constructed between 1929-1931, during the Great Depression. Standing at 219m (709 ft.), the building was constructed as an office building for Walter J. Salmon, Sr., as well as another adjacent building, the Salmon Tower Building. Across from Bryant Park, and located at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street in Midtown Manhattan. It is not well known as the ESB for its small size (being a quarter of the Empire State's), and it lacks a spire, which does not make it stand out as well. The limestone Four-Story base offers a distrinction from it and the rest of the building, showing a difference in color.
It was the original transmitter site for CBS Radio's NYC FM station W67N (WCBS-FM) back in 1941. The office building is owned by 1472 Broadway Inc., and was designated a NYC Landmark in 2010.
