The Call Building (Now known as the 'Central Tower') - San Francisco, CA
Well, I'm back again, and let this be the first build I post in this post - (having failed to quit Minecraft) stage of my life. I made a replica of the old Call Building in San Francisco, which was a Beaux-Arts office building constructed near the turn of the 19th-Century in 1898.
History
Located at the corner of Market and Third streets in the City by the Bay, it was built by the architectural firm, Reid & Reid. The Call Building was heavily damaged in the Great 1906 San Francisco earthquake, and though it had been partially burned, the building held up through the raging fires of the quake. It was not until 1938 that the building had underwent a heavily extensive Art-Deco remodeling, which unfortunately included the removal of its ornate baroque-style dome and four cupolas which once stood at the building's corners. Regardless of the building's architectural makeover, the Call Building (now the Central Tower) continues to stand tall as a proud and iconic landmark of San Francisco.
