Well here it is a finalized xp farm that works I ended up just lighting up
the
caves on this one. The overall design is not at all complex if
you
want to check it out you can just come on the server and if i
am
online I will let you see

small fee of
course just kidding. We may be able to set it up so
players
can check it out at some point but i would have to check with
the
owners on that one. The spawning surface is well over 500 If
I
recall correctly. cheap to build and fast very fast.
really not much
to it just hard to explain if anyone wants
to see it online I have an
old design that worked about 50%
had some kinks that I found later. I would get up to 70 or so mobs
with no one else online which worked for the server then as it was
just then opening. Not at all feasible most of the time. The worst
the old one would do was about 10 or so with 2-3 players on including
myself but it still worked and if you moved around and was patient
you could even then get around 30 mobs to drop and re spawn within a
timely manner. The difference in design is that the new design uses
dispensers instead of pistons to help reduce lag in the surrounding
area. Also the stacking of the platforms is far more efficient with
the dispensers you can directly stack without making modifications
and you have a larger spawanable serfice.
Worked well then but was
not flawless. It is more about the design
then the wonderful
coveted 90 + mob spawn rate at the moment. This
one as with
all xp farms spawns irregular to say the least. Since
i am
on a server it can range from an average of 16 to upwards of 40.
The
spawn recovery is fairly fast with the wash system I may set it
to
a timer soon haven’t done that yet just kinda got to
thinking
about it just now. With all of that said it was and
continues to be a
fun build hope to continue to improve the
design quality
