This is a pixel art statue I made of Articuno, from Pokemon Gold. It stands tall and proud amongst the other pixel art in OverCast's art gallery. I plan on adding the schematic for this in the near future. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the art! This statue was made by redJAZZangel7021.
Materials used: black wool, lapis blocks, diamond blocks, iron blocks

what, the pixel art? first I find a sprite that I want to make in Minecraft. second, I look at all the colors used in the sprite, and find a corresponding Minecraft block for each color. For Pokemon sprites from the early games, there are usually only 4 colors in them so it's fairly easy to pick colors. Lastly, I go into creative mode and I build it. If you want to try some pixel art, I recommend starting with much smaller projects, but practice makes perfect :)

I'm partially good, I wouldn't consider myself the best, but how do you do the bigger things like the articuno?

it's really the same as doing the smaller ones. You just have to look at where the pixels connect and go block by block. I usually try to establish the outline first so it's easier to fill in the colors
