This Lighting System employs the new Light Detector in the 13W01B Snapshot. At night, a walkway block (in this case, Sandstone) is quickly replaced by a Glowstone Block, Lighting up the walkway. Looks beautiful and is fully automatic.

I just hooked up a Light Detector to an Inverter and then connected that to a Block switcher. Getting the repeaters to sync took FOREVAH. I think this may be the most compact way.
