AVANOKAN-Class Escort

The Avanokan is a capital ship engine, refitted in tough times to be a scoutship. The engine originally had one structural ring- engineers retrofitted another one to the front of it, added rudimentary life-support systems and crew quarters, and had at it. A single railgun, balanced with the engine's original coolant vent port, provides armanent, and the engine's structural ring contains a basic FTL drive.

As a result, the Avanokan is an incredibly fast and maneuverable ship, capable of keeping pace with starfighters and even missiles. It is usually seen in recon roles, far ahead of the front lines. With no shields and armour, it relies on its extreme speed and maneuverability for defence, using its railgun to peg the light craft that are capable of chasing it.
