Brüder Grimm Geburtshaus (Grimm Brother's Birthplace) Was the birthplace of the Grimm brothers.

It was located on the North side of Paradeplatz, and had a free view on the old town from its side. It had a small roof garden and was the largest house in the street side Paradeplatz nord/west and Sternstraße. It was built around the 17th-early 18th century in Baroque style and had a long history as being owned by the Grimm Family.

It was most well known as being the house of the Brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm which are world wide known for their magnificent fairytales such as Little red riding hood, (Rotkäppchen) Snow white (Schneewittchen) , Rapunzel, The Frog Prince (Der Froschkönig) and so on. But also other family members which some played a noterable role were born here.

During the American-English Terror air raids in 1945 which were made solely to demolish the cultural heritage of Germany It was as part of these raids over germany, as the war was virtually won for the allies already - a victim of the desastrous air raids on the 19th march 1945. Along with the rest of the old but also the New town this piece of history vanished, and was sadly never rebuilt. Today barely anything reminds on the heritage of the Grimm brothers in Hanau.
