Burneburg
"'lndeed,' said Glóin, `if it were not for the Beornings, the passage from Dale to Rivendell would long ago have become impossible. They are valiant men and keep open the High Pass and the Ford of Carrock. But their tolls are high,' he added with a shake of his head; `and like Beorn of old they are not over fond of dwarves. Still, they are trusty, and that is much in these days."

Lore:
Burneburg is ArdaCraft’s interpretation of a Beorning town. It lies along the Anduin, north of the Gladden Fields. Beornings inhabited the Vales of Anduin, near the Carrock. They kept the High Pass and the Ford of Carrock safe for merchants and other travellers going across the Misty Mountains by fighting the goblins who lived there. They were followers of Grimbeorn son of Beorn, a skin changer.
Burneburg is one of the settlements in the Vale that was established to help guard against the orc hordes who dwelled in the Misty Mountains and in Mirkwood. Though it is not specifically mentioned in the lore, the island upon which it stands is marked on Tolkien's maps, and so we decided that a defensive settlement would make sense there.
Construction
The walled portion of the town was built upon an island in the Anduin, while the port area exists on the eastern bank. It is divided by interior walls into three sections, the most fortified area at the highest point of the island and capped with a large, wooden tower. For anyone who is interested in seeing a detailed timeline of the city's construction, the Burneburg project thread on our forums provides a good overview.
Burneburg forms part of a larger project which seeks to recreate Middle-earth in its entirety. Credit goes to Eaglz24 and MicahVanderman for leading this project, and to the entire community of builders for helping out.
Burneburg can be viewed from above on ArdaCraft's dynmap. There is no download avaliable, but ArdaCraft is a
non-whitelisted server which anyone is welcome to come and explore, provided they have installed our modpack first.
