Shipping is the smallest map in the Call of Duty series. Due to its small size, it is mainly used for small and quick games, such as free-to-play games.

The map is small in size and filled with containers, hence the name. The map is almost completely symmetrical in design, with two containers on the west and east sides of the map, one of which can pass through either side, 8 containers in the middle (two of which can enter), two containers on the north and south sides of the map, one of which can be entered on one side, and the fragments that cover the corners of the map. Outside the containers, the map has no cover from air support, and there is little cover from enemy artillery fire.

Due to its extremely compact setup, the spawn point is very susceptible to respawn kills. Close range weapons are naturally a great fit for this map, while high-capacity weapons, such as the Light Machine Gun and P90, can be useful, as players can be easily spotted when reloading. Light machine guns and sniper rifles can easily shoot through containers, which helps spawn to kill other players. The use of explosive weapons is strongly recommended in trafficking areas on the map, primarily near the north and south ends of the map, as well as containers that can be passed through both sides.
ADVERTIS in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Shipments were added as part of the Season One Update. The map version in Modern Warfare is physically different from the version in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare or its remake. This version of shipments includes several changes:
Containers on both sides of the map are no longer angled, but instead provide a line of sight directly to the enemy's spawn location.
The map rotates 90 degrees clockwise depending on the position of the ruling flag. For example, the location where a damaged car/forklift would normally be located is now in the upper left corner of where it is, which means that the ruling flag is located at a different landmark in the map.
By stacking crates, the map becomes taller, which means that grenades and other projectiles are not as easy to throw onto the map.
Now there is a way to climb up to the top of a set of closed containers, a set of open containers, and the middle one.
