Hi guys! Recently I've began recreating castlevania 64 in Minecraft to see how close I can replicate the game with basic Minecraft.
I'm doing this by working side by side with an emulator and closely trying to replicate every little twist and turn, details, texturing, and trying to get scaling as close as possible. There is a lot of guess work involved translating the land in cubes!
I'm also planning on building it from 'start to finish' style beginning with the first stage and recreating every room and level as it connects in the game as it's seen playing Carrie. Currently, I don't plan on doing Reinhardt's stages or Cornell's, but might change my mind once this is complete.
Features:
1# Levels
1 - Forest of Silence - 15%?
2 - Castle Wall -
3 - The Villa -
4 - Underground Waterway -
5 - Castle Center -
6 - Tower of Science -
7 - Tower of Sorcery -
8 - Room of Clocks -
9 - Clock Tower -
10 - Castle Keep -
2# Puzzles
I plan on employing levers to be used in place of keys in certain stages and maybe redstone as well, though I'm not very good with using them. Also the infamous nitro quest will be used with Nitro.
#3 Items
I plan on placing chests with roast beef and chicken beside torches (torches drop items in the game) as well as splash potions for holy water, levers for keys, tnt for nitro, redstone torch (mandragora maybe?)
#4 Secrets
There will also be well hidden secrets in the levels found behind a specific block (tbd), perhaps containing extra items and little easter egg messages and other fun stuff, but trust me, I'm going to make them very hard to find >:]
So stay tuned, it'll probably be a long while before this is completed, but I think the first level will be the most time consuming! Thanks for reading.
