"...Near Nova Ivestia is Castrum Sebetus, a castrum established by Cohors II of Legio II where the legionary detachment resides. They protect all Roman assets in the region, including garrisons, outposts, settlements, and allied tribes. In addition to defensive measures, they are also tasked with subduing barbarian locals who might be a threat to Roman supremacy..."
Castrum Sebetus is the fortress for the Roman army faction Legio II Augusta on the ancient history RP server, Romecraft Vanillicus. We just recently completed it, and I thought it was worthy of upload! The design was very heavily based on Tom_Clarks Castrum Acilianum project, though the amount of buildings is reduced and the stables are from his other castrum build, Castrum Eviticus. Some design changes like this were made to make it more practical for building in survival and meet the needs of the faction. You'll also notice it has proper bridges to the gates over the trenches, and some wood spikes as extra defensive measures.
Some day soon we'll add more stuff around the outside perimeter including some extra buildings and other amenities that the legio might require, like a horse training area or a pilum range and some other details so because of that, I'd say this project is only about 80% done.
This castrum includes the following buildings:
- 2 large warehouses
- 1 principia that includes a armory, altar, enchanting room, 2 offices, and a war-room
- 1 praetorium, where the high officers of the legion are quartered
- 2 infantry barracks, with 6 regular rooms and 1 officer room each
- 1 workshop
- 1 hospital
- 1 cavalry barrack with stables and cavalrymen rooms
- 1 general storehouse/granary
