The building is largely made of stone bricks, while the roofs are made of black stone. The windows are high - but unusually not wide for a Gothic building. Buttresses are clearly visible both inside and outside the church. The entrance is flanked on both sides by two large square bell towers, which are also connected by a bridge. In the church there is a second floor on the flanks of the nave, which can be reached via the aforementioned bell towers. The church has a front entrance gate, which is purely optical and cannot be locked.

The Saint Louis is one of the oldest large church buildings in Normanndia and is said to contain the relics of Saint Louis Martell. Nevertheless, almost nothing about the church is old anymore, the Marquis Corbeau - the first King of Normanndia - had the old pre-church rebuilt and expanded again and again, because he wanted to have a church in his capital that was appropriate for his office. This can be recognized particularly well by the black roof tiles, which come from the Barony Comté, which first became part of the kingdom around 450 auc.

The main problem for the builders was the limited building space - after all, the church was not allowed to touch either the main street or the city wall, so instead the building was built higher and higher, so that the use of the support struts typical of the Gothic style was essential. Nevertheless, the church is rather small compared to the churches in Egypt, Rome and even some Norderian churches.
As the main church of the Normanndian capital and royal seat, the church is also the country's coronation church.

Das Gebäude besteht zu großen Teilen aus Steinziegeln, während die Dächer aus Schwarzstein sind. Die Fenster sind hoch – aber für einen gotischen bau ungewöhnlich wenig breit. Strebebögen sind sowohl im Inneren wie auch im äußerem der Kirche deutlich zu sehen. Der Eingang wird von beiden Seiten von zwei großen quadratischen Glockentürmen flankiert, welche zudem über eine Brücke verbunden sind. In der Kirche gibt es einen zweiten Stock an den Flanken des Kirchenschiffes, welche über zuvor genannte Glockentürme erreichbar sind. Die Kirche hat ein vorderes Eingangstor, welches rein optischer Natur ist und nicht verschlossen werden kann.

Die Saint Louis ist einer der ältesten großen Kirchengebäude in Normanndia und soll angeblich die Reliquien des Heiligen Louis Martell beinhalten. Trotzdem ist fast nichts mehr an der Kirche alt, den Marquis Corbeau – der erste König Normanndias – ließ die alte Vorkirche immer wieder umbauen und erweitern, da er in seiner Hauptstadt eine seinem Amtes angemessene Kirche haben wollte. Besonders gut ist die an den schwarzen Dachziegeln zuerkennen, welche aus der Baronie Comté stammen, welche erste um 450 auc Teil des Königreiches wurde.

Das Hauptproblem der Baumeister war der beschränkte Bauplatz – schließlich durfte die Kirche weder die Hauptstraße noch die Stadtmauer tangieren, sodass stattdessen immer weiter in die Höhe gebaut wurde, sodass die Benutzung der für die Gotik typtischen Stützstreben unerlässlich wurde. Trotzdem ist die Kirche im Vergleich zu den Kirchen in Ägypten, Rom und so manchen norderanischen Kirchen eher klein.
Als Hauptkirche der normanndische Hauptstadt und Königssitz ist die Kirche außerdem auch die Krönungskirche des Landes.
