Right now I'm playing on a friends server and I'm trying to carve out a city underground, these pictures are of the central ventilation shaft for the forges. The above ground opening at level 90 or so is 11x11 blocks, and it opens up at level 63 to widen into a roof/funnel that will shelter the roads and forges that will be below.
