This is a 1:1 highly accurate replica of the CCTV building in Beijing. Not a traditional skyscraper, but I think it counts. This was built specially for the skyscraper contest over 3 weeks, with an average of ~1-2 hours spent each day. I worked off photos and architectural drawings of the building to get its shape and construct the exterior lattice. Recreating the building's framework was a long process, starting with the architectural plans. I imported them into minecraft as pixel art (w/ spritecraft) and then traced each line by hand. Finally, MC Edit was used to copy the design onto the building. The landscaping was just as difficult. I worked mostly from photos and google earth to recreate the shapes of the paths and the layout of the plants and skylights.
  This building was NOT made with a 3D model converter.
  The stained clay interior of the structure (no real interior, just solid) was put in with an MC edit hollow filter. Photos were found on google images. Thanks to wikiarquitectura for their plans of the building and google earth for their imagery.
 This was built in minecraft 1.8, the only version I use. Night vision recommended.
