IceFlame22's Compact Realistic Elevator. World version: 1.21.10.

This build is a more compact elevator design I came up with since my previous design felt a bit bulky. As opposed to the previous elevator's 17x17 cross-sectional area, this new design is only 14x18. There are a few downsides, though, so I decided not to bother publishing it on YouTube for now. Here's a list of pros/cons to building this elevator over the previous one:

Pros:
  • Slightly more compact
  • Easier/simpler to build
Cons:
  • User input is more delayed (about 1 second)
  • Requires space underneath the first floor for circuitry (first floor can't be at bedrock and expanding downward requires removing all of that circuitry)
  • Not compatible with versions before 1.21 due to the use of copper bulbs

Both this elevator and the previous share all functionality/limitations besides what is listed above.

This is a reupload to fix a couple key bugs. Hopefully it actually works this time, but if you come across any more bugs, please let me know!

hey so i was trying to copy it to another world and it worked but everything started going crazy, i mean like the redstone was reapeting and stuff i cant really explane but it did not work do you think you could help me?

Hey, how do you make it so it only has 4 floors on the largely spaced version? I cutting it to 4 floors and changing all the book numbers but it didn't seem to work.

i have a under ground build with 3 floors far apart how could i modify this to make it work there?

If you only have 3 floors, then this elevator design is probably a bit overkill. But it still works underground if you insist on building it (as long as each floor is spaced an even number of blocks apart). In the world download, you'll see that some of the circuitry is labeled with concrete, some with wool. The wool circuitry is consistent no matter where the floors are (repeats every 4 blocks), and the concrete circuitry is attached to each floor. I'd recommend using the taller example in the world download as a reference, since all the circuitry is spaced out. Copy the bottom 3 floors, just spaced out more as needed. If you have any trouble, feel free to ask. I know it can be a pain to copy messy redstone.
