"Haitian" is a main cruiser of Beiyang Marine Division after the Sino-Japanese War. It was once the flagship of Beiyang Marine Division.
Shortly after the defeat of the Sino-Japanese War in 1894, the Qing government decided to rebuild the Beiyang Fleet. As part of the reconstruction plan, the Qing government ordered two steel armoured Cruisers from Britain in 1896, named Haitian and Haidi(later renamed Haiqi). In order to ensure the quality of the two ships, the Qing government sent Cheng Biguang and others to the Armstrong factory in England to supervise the construction.
In February 1904, the war between Japan and Russia broke out, and China declared neutrality. In April, the "Haitian" ship was ordered from Yantai to Jiangyin to carry arms to meet the needs of neutrality in Western Liaoning Province. Arriving at Zhoushan, the "Haitian" warship turned its head. Because of the heavy fog, the "Haitian" ship ran too fast and unfortunately ran aground on Dingxing Island.
The flag of the ship stern is fictional and does not represent any country.
