Lore
The Dauntless is a star cruiser custom designed and built for the two infamous bounty hunters Orion and Kyros Rex. It serves as their base of operations and home as they travel from planet to planet looking for work and trouble. It's been through many a scrap, but by virtue of good construction, excellent piloting, and a bit of luck, it's made it through needing only 7 complete refits. It's a tough line of busniess, okay?
The front half of the ship was salvaged from alien wreckage. The hull was completed by Ion Industries, who added cargo, weapons, fuel, and an engine system, throwing in a shuttle as part of the deal. The power and shields systems were provided by the Arcadia Group, and the living space interiors were installed as a favour by the retiring chair of Provincial Cottages.
It's powered by a Kugelblitz (look it up if you don't know). It uses a 2% salt water solution as its fuel with the salt being 80% enriched uranium tetrabromide, capable of producing 10MN of thrust and accelerating the ship at up to 10G with an Isp of 400,000s. Its delta-V is 30% c, taking 3 and a half days to accelerate to this maximum speed at full throttle (probably exploding in the process due to the extreme stress on the superstructure from what amounts a constant stream of nuclear explosions going off behind it)
It's not designed for open combat but carries a supply of low-yield nuclear lances and has three railgun turrets for point defense with not-quite 360 coverage. It also a 1.2GW laser with a pitched gimbal mount.
Stats
The ship is 94 blocks long, 40 blocks wide, and 29 blocks high (when you include the height from the shuttle docked underneath it). 14,578 blocks in total, all placed by hand (no editing programs were used, except to measure it at the end), totalling around 22 hours work.
I've crammed 51 rooms into the ship, despite a third of the interior space being fuel tanks. The download includes a lot of signs to help you navigate your way around; even I was getting lost in it. Here's a list (try and find them all!):
This was quite a difficult build for me, as the Dauntless is by far the largest build I've completed with a full interior. I have a tendency to go way overboard with interiors, cramming as much as I can into the space available - made more challenging by the highly complex shape of the ship. It's also the first time I've tried to make an asymmetrical ship - something that's notorious to pull off but can have excellent results if done well (Think: Millennium Falcon). And then, on top of that, I chose an organic style (which I'm terrible at), a bizarre colour scheme, and had to blend the disparate styles used by the different 'companies' that worked on the ship without it looking like a total mess. Fun. But, I am very happy with the result.

Great work as always though. Could have sworn kugelblitz was a proposed late war German SPAAG though.
