This started out as me trying to build a giant tree by hand.... it then became a dead giant tree, which in turn became a dwelling.

Not sure what else to do with it, but feel free to use it as you'd like. Just give credit if you use it publicly.

  Have something to say?

Very cool design, I like how spacious the interior is looking from these screenshots :)

I would try and make it more organic looking, maybe use more different materials for the tree, look at some pictures of trees irl, and copy it into minecraft by having the picture besides and looking at it whilst you build, right now it just looks like you made it with world edit ^^
Also it looks like you did the first picture in chunky, and i would recommend getting as close to the ground as you can if you are using a skymap on 90 degrees and not 180 degrees, 90 degrees make it mirror itself, and 180 just takes the whole picture and stretches it out ^^

Yea this entire project was a learning process. lol Honestly I think world edit generates better trees than this one I built. >.< lol Another mistake I made is the symmetry. I feel almost compelled to keep it even though I know in nature it never has perfect symmetry. I'm only now learning how to make globes, arches and spheroids to come out right manually so maybe soon I can start practicing trees again.

I can't remember what I used for the render, but I will remember your advice. I've been finding render programs are touchy and annoying at first. At some point I'll go back to them to make it worth it.

Well, for render programs i can really recommend Chunky for a starter, and if you feel you've "mastererd" that, you could go on to try and learn Cinema 4D, but that shit is some hard shit (imo).
And i've done so much with Chunky, that i'm almost 100% certain that was the program you used for these renders, i've never seen the same situation anywhere else...

I'm currently visiting my parents' house so I'm not on my personal PC, but I am inclined to confirm that it is Chunky that I used. I haven't used a render program in ages for any of my projects since I have been very disappointed with my learning curve with it. Perhaps my expectations of myself in this is too high? It just seems to me this is a simple program that should be simple to use yet I can't get it to do exactly what I want it to do - which is to produce the photogenic images that I have seen others create. I will return to it and play around with it some more. Perhaps it is an issue of patience with myself.

I started using chunky in June, and look at some of my recent projects dating from there, if you ever feel like it, i'd be happy to teach alittle away, remember it's all about sharing, i'd even do some renders for you if you like (It's pretty much a win-win, i think) you get renders, and i get some credit on other peoples profiles ^^

You are welcome to do any renders of whatever projects of mine that catch your fancy. Hopefully some of my newer ones that are a little more worthy of attention than my earlier learning projects. lol It's all about the learning with me. And of course you will get credit for the renders you do with a link to your profile. ^_^

Almost an entire day, but it doesn't feel finished. I just don't know what else to do with it right now. So I'll let it sit here and see what comes to me later down the road.
