This device is basically a die from a board game: it lets you make a spinner, basically.

What kind of input/output does this use?

I belive a dispenser based system coud be easier and more compact.

type in the numbers and it spits out the one it lands on, dummy. It's basically a spinner.

Sorry, but I don't know any way to "type" input to a redstone device without being OP. I normally use redstone for inputs, even if it is numbers. Could you please explain better?

1) Go into creative.
2) OP yourself.
3) Open to LAN and turn on cheats if they aren't enabled (option for world without cheats).
4) To input, type"/tell @a <number>".
Do that for every command block and then you can start builing you game.

So you say that this does not have a redstone output? And because of the pistons I belive this is pretty slow too. I can't see any good randomizer there either. I belive that is a bad dice.

Shut up and listen for a minute. The random placement of the numbers is up to you, and it's so slow because anything other than the current repeater setup will not work without hours and hours of tinkering. So when you say "Why can't it be faster?", there's your reason, smartmouth.
