I recently started playing Minecraft again after a fairly long break, and got on a survival server to build another massive fortress, as I usually do. However, this time around I had a bunch more new design ideas than usually and wasn't sure I could immediately fit all of them into the same project, so I decided to first make a smaller castle to experiment on and see the strengths and weaknesses of these ideas. This castle turned out half decent, and so I decided to upload it here.
I spent around 4 or 5 days (survival mode) in total on this experiment, and included a functional, sparsely decorated interior similarly to my earlier romanesque mansion, with the idea that you have the floors ready to go but can design and designate their purposes on your own, should you be using this castle for anything. I don't think I'll update this unless there are some significant overlooked flaws.
You may find some underground junk, this was built in a populated area and while I did clear all of the above ground constructions belonging to others, I can't guarantee anything below sea level.
This was built in the default texture pack, but seems to work fine with default, john smith, photo realism and any packs faithful to one of the three.
