Overview:
  • This project implements a fully IEEE 754-compliant half-precision floating-point multiplier entirely in vanilla Minecraft using redstone logic.
  • The map is compatible with Minecraft Java Edition 1.18 and all later versions.
Floating-Point Format:
  • Operands are encoded using the IEEE 754 half-precision floating-point format, comprising a 1-bit sign, 5-bit exponent, and 10-bit mantissa.
  • An online IEEE 754 converter is available for converting floating-point values.
Supported Operand Classes:
  • Normal numbers
  • Subnormal numbers
  • Positive and negative zero
  • Positive and negative infinity
  • Quiet and signaling NaNs
Exception Flags:
  • Invalid Operation
  • Overflow
  • Underflow
  • Inexact
Supported Rounding Modes:
  • Round ties to even
  • Round ties to away
  • Round toward negative
  • Round toward positive
  • Round toward zero
Compliance:
  • The implementation fully conforms to the IEEE 754 standard specification for binary floating-point arithmetic and produces results consistent with compliant hardware implementations.

Not directly. It supports IEEE 754 floating-point multiplication, which can be used as a building block for matrix multiplication, but matrix multiplication itself is not implemented. You'd also need a floating-point adder.
